APPLY FOR COUPLES THERAPY
I am so glad you are interested in working together! This is the place to start. Please read and consider the following information before applying:
I am trained in the psychobiological approach to couples therapy. This means I support clients to understand their nervous systems and to cultivate safety. Cultivating safety means resolving issues at the root and creating a strong base from which you can launch as individuals and as a couple. While length of therapy is completely up to you, it is rare I work with couples for less than a year. Other couples stay for several years. While couples come to me with various issues including anxiety, depression, unresolved trauma, addiction and relationship problems, I work best with couples who aren’t looking for a quick fix and commit to the investment of time and money that couples therapy entails. These couples like the benefit of prioritizing their relationship on a regular and consistent basis.
My fee is 275/session. My couples therapy clients have regular recurring times that are reserved just for them. This means they are financially responsible for these recurring session times even if they can not attend for any reason. If you or your partner can not come to session and you give me 48 hours notice, I will try to find an alternate time that same week that works for both our schedules. If no alternate time is possible clients still pay for that weeks session. You must both be present during all sessions.
I have found that consistency provides powerful results. Online sessions make meeting from anywhere possible and I meet with clients that are traveling and in various locations every day. You and your partner can also log in to your sessions from different locations if needed. Please consider this aspect of how I work before applying.
I am the best therapist for couples who are genuinely interested in how relationships work and are willing to experiment with new behaviors outside our sessions. My best client relationships are with people who are interested in alternative and spiritual perspectives to some extent.
Clients consistently give me the feedback that I am nonjudgemental and supportive. I am open to all spiritual perspectives and practices. I am sex positive and I work well with couples of all sexual orientations.
Responding to the following questions will give me a sense of how well I might serve you and your partner. If I think another therapist may serve you better I will do my best to provide you with good referrals. I usually have a waiting list for couples therapy and I will keep you updated about openings through my monthly Heartsnacks newsletter or contact you directly.
